Domain Name System – DNS, how they work?

Domain name system-DNS works like a house address. In internet there are more then million of website already and more then increasing number of Domain Name System are registering.

Domain Name system is a set of IP Address. Like 192.168.50.1 . To make the domain name system unique from other DNS, this IP Address is used.

IANA - International Assigned Numbers Authority

To make it clear I give you a example:

Open any browser like Google chrome, Mozila firefox, Safari or Opera .

Then open a command prompt means Click Start – Run – type CMD and Enter.

A new black screen will come like below picture

Now type ping www.google.com  and press ENTER.

You will see that a replay will come like  Replay from 173.194.65.106 : bytes=32 time=17ms TTL=48

How this domain name system works

173.194.65.106  is the IP address of www.google.com

Then go back to Mozila Firefox and type 173.194.65.106 and press ENTER. Your Google page will come.

Who provide this DNS IP Address ?

International Assigned Numbers Authority- IANA provides this IP address for Domain Name Systems.  The IP addresses distributed by IANA never used twice and it is unique.
